The dream of Maitreya Homestay began long before its doors opened in 2024. Our owner has been welcoming travelers and operating homestay programs for over 20 years, always with one dream in mind, to create a place of comfort, culture, and genuine connection, a home for guests in Patan.

The name "Maitreya" is inspired by the Shree Bacchha Dharmadhatu Mahabihar, the historic Buddhist bihar located right in front of our home. In Buddhist tradition, Maitreya is the future Buddha, symbolizing hope, compassion, and a harmonious future, values we bring to every stay at our homestay.

Located in the quiet heart of Nakabahil, Patan, our home sits next to a traditional Newar Buddhist courtyard (Bahal) and is surrounded by temples. Guests stay on a dedicated floor with six cozy rooms, a shared kitchen, and a welcoming living space, where they experience the warmth of living alongside our family.
